Week Without Walls

Week Without Walls is around the corner (November 25-29)!

Week Without Walls (WWW) allows our classes to learn through adventure.

We are finalizing the details of the educational experiences we are offering.

Grades 3, 4 & 5 trips

Grades  6 to 12 trips (different age groupings)

Students and families receive full details, including destination, transport, accommodations, itinerary, etc.

How do we
select our
locations & activities?

1. Educational Goals and Learning Outcomes

  • We align WWW experiences with the philosophy and ethos of the IB educational framework. The goal is to provide hands-on learning that is relevant to our goals:

    • Service learning (volunteering in local communities)

    • Cultural immersion (learning about other cultures)

    • Outdoor education (developing leadership, teamwork, and resilience)

2. Safety and Risk Management

  • We prioritize the safety of students. Locations are chosen based on low-risk environments with access to medical care and proper infrastructure.

  • Partnering with reliable organizations for activities is crucial to ensure safety during activities such as hiking, water sports, or volunteering.

3. Cost and Accessibility
  • We select locations that are financially feasible for families, keeping travel, accommodation, and activity costs in mind.

  • The accessibility of the location in terms of visas, travel time, and infrastructure also influences the decision.

4. Cultural and Geographical Diversity
  • We may choose destinations that expose students to different cultures, languages, or environments to broaden their perspectives. Some might choose rural or mountainous areas to allow students to experience nature and different living conditions.

5. Sustainability and Environmental Impact
  • We consider the environmental footprint of travel and choose eco-friendly or sustainable destinations. Some programmes focus on environmental conservation or ecological awareness.

6. Student Interests and Age Group
  • We tailor activities based on the age of students and their interests. Younger students might have more structured, local trips, while older students engage in more adventurous, longer or independent experiences.

By balancing these factors, we aim to create enriching, safe, and educational experiences that contribute to the personal growth and global awareness of our learners.
