On the 21st of September, the ZIS girls’ football team woke up to a dark, peaceful sky, the sun barely on the horizon. Excited (and sleep deprived!), they eagerly hopped on a bus to play a friendly match of football with other school teams. Almost two long hours later, they arrived in Guangzhou and got off the bus one by one, entering the somewhat intimidating large football field.
While they prepared for the matches and started their warm-up and exercises (led by their amazing team captain, G10 Mirae Park!), it suddenly started to rain. The rain got heavier and heavier, and soon, everyone was wet and cold... but they pushed on! They played 3 matches against 3 other schools that had older, taller, and stronger players, but they never gave up, emerging victorious and winning the final match!
Thanks to their awesome coach, Mr. Aaron and assistant coach Ms. Andri, their #1 supporter, Ms. Kate, and everyone who cheered them on, they ended up having a wonderful time: making new friends and just having fun!
