How much is the application fee?

The 2007-2008 application fee is 800 RMB (approx. $100 USD) per student

Will ZIS accept transcripts and teacher recommendations in other languages? What if my child went to school somewhere that did not use English as a medium of instruction?

You should supply original transcripts and other documents such as report cards with the school seal. However, all transcripts must be translated by an official, licensed translator. Recommendation forms should be in English.

How are ZIS students selected?

ZIS students are selected based on past academic performance, recommendations, their potential to succeed in the ZIS academic program, any special talents and the Admissions interview.

Does ZIS require admissions testing?

Once the completed application package has been returned to the admissions office, an admissions staff member will contact the parent and student to arrange a meeting. In this meeting, we will provide the student with different forms of academic testing and will also test for English language proficiency. Long distance testing can be arranged under the auspices of the current school or another official agency who can insure and verify sound test conditions.

We are interested in visiting the campus--is ZIS open for drop-ins?

Families are encouraged to make an appointment with the Admissions Office for tours of the school campus. Please contact the Admissions Office for an appointment. However, if a visit is required at short notice, please phone in advance to ensure someone will be there to meet you.

What do I do if I can’t download the required documents?

We respect and understand that downloading documents may be time-consuming depending on the internet speed. Please contact our admissions office (Office PH: 86-756-3320016, Email: zis@zischina.com) and we will gladly mail, email or fax you copies of all our application forms and materials.

How long does it take for the Admissions Office to process my completed application?

Once the Admissions Office has received the completed application package, an admissions officer will contact the family with a decision within three working days or sooner if possible.
