Welcome to the Zhuhai International School. It is my privilege to be the Founding Principal of a school which is set in what can be considered one of the most desirable locations for a school in the world. After nearly twenty years in education both with international schools and national systems around the world, it is my pleasure to return to China again. This is my second appointment as a Head of School in China, and an appointment that I have been looking forward to with great enthusiasm.
Zhuhai International School is all about quality international education. We are firm in our priorities and mission to provide above all, a leading education for the international community that live in and around Zhuhai. We expect over the next few years to build a leading school in the region which will become a source of pride for all who are associated with the school. We have put together an educational program based on professional experience and leading research on current education practice. All students who attend ZIS will be exposed to a quality education which will eventually lead them to greater choices in the future.
Our teaching staff is fully qualified and certified. Western teachers are sourced from native speaking English countries and Chinese teachers are certified and speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese. There will be many unique aspects about the programme we offer at ZIS. One of the most distinguishing features is the bilingual and bicultural focus of our school. Each Early Childhood and Primary class will have a qualified English and Chinese teacher. The language of instruction at the school will be English with a significant focus on the development of Mandarin and Cantonese.
I look forward to welcoming you personally to the school. We will open our doors to the international community in September 2007. Our aim is to be the leading international school in the region and we look forward to developing this aim over the next few years.
